Look After Your Wounds With Pulse Lavage

By Rosella Campbell

Having a wound that has been created by undergoing an operation can be very sore. Not only will it be sore but also it needs a lot of care to prevent infection that will in turn slow down the healing process. The latest technology is the pulse lavage.

As mentioned before, the machine is not very expensive. Because of the low cost of the machine, the session is also not very expensive. It is possible for patients on medical aids as well as cash patients to be able to come for sessions on weekly, daily, or even biweekly sessions.

If a wound is cared for properly, and an infection is treated as soon as it starts, then there is no reason why a wound should take long to heal. Getting a wound to heal fast will in turn also prevent any infections. This is something that will really work both ways.

Everyone knows that if you have for example an old sports injury, it will be sore when it gets cold. When you have an open wound when it is cold, the chances of the wound healing very fast are very slim, as cold weather does not promote fast healing. This is one concern that many people had about the hydrotherapy that is used on an open wound.

The saline will clean the wound and remove of the damaged tissue, but it will not be able to promote the healing of the wound, as the saline is cold. In fact, the cold saline might even go as far as slowing down the complete healing process.

Here is what you do to change this and make the concern vanish. You cannot really heat the saline up to a much higher temperature, as the salt in the saline water will then start forming crystals that can in turn also damage the wound bed. The best way you can do this is heating the saline up to normal room temperature.

While you are, busy with the irrigation of the wound and you notice some kind of an infection you should let the doctor know that was originally treating the wound. The reason for this is so that they can prescribe an antibiotic. You need to tell the doctor that you are busy with this kind of treatment.

The towel will prevent the cold bottle from touch the patient directly and to make to patient uncomfortable. The body temperature of the patient on the other hand, will help the saline heat up to a temperature that will help promote the healing of the wound but also low enough to prevent crystallization of the salt particles. It really is that simple. By doing this one very easy step, you will also help promote the healing of the wound, so that recovery takes less time.
